Your Questions About Planets Align 2012

Jenny asks…

Little Sister Freaking Out About 2012!?

Ok so my sister just started hearing about 2012 and is freaking out and stuff, so I told her, that just because the Mayan Calender ended then, doesn’t mean the worlds going to end. But that got me thinking. I didn’t tell her that on that date, the planets align, also leaving out the solar flare. But I’m also thinking, It’s not like the Mayans, who have died out, would keep making Calenders, thinking it had to end on some date, randomly 2012. Please help me with my thoughts, now I’m starting to freak.

MarekMuraze answers:

You can safely tell her that if the world DOES end on that date, it will be nothing to do with that silly date on the calender.
It will be due to the Japanese nuclear power station cock-up.. They certainly got the first four letters of the name right, didn’t they……….

Carol asks…

So what is the real meaning behind 2012?

I’ve heard the planets are supposed to align and the world will be thrown off its axis and that there is something about the calendar of the Mayan’s ending or whatever. I mean, couldn’t their civilization have just died out? Oh well. I just don’t like apocalyptic ideas. Makes me sad.
I am very happy with the asnwers I have gotten thus far. Thank you all for quelling my worries and reinforcing what I have always hoped for and thought to be the truth. I look forward to the new answers.

MarekMuraze answers:

Meaning? No meaning, it’s a complete hoax!

2012 is a complete 100%, junk science, internet hoax.

The Mayan calendar never predicted the end of the world. About the only thing it DID PREDICT was when the Mayan high priest needed to cut off a few HEADS to appease the SUN GOD!

Many civilizations had excellent calendars which they used for religious ceremony and farming. There is nothing special about the Mayan Calendar.

Here watch the famous astronomer Neil Tyson MAKE FUN OF this hoax!

and NASA has a web site that also debunks the 2012 hoax:…

Joseph asks…

To the people who believe the world’s going to end in 2012…?

Haven’t you ever thought that the Mayans just got tired of making calendars for the future? And what exactly makes you believe that the world is going to end Dec 21, 2012? My opinion: people are always saying that the world is going to end “on this day at this time” because of some astrological crap (the planets align…whatever), and it never does. Humans are really prone to repeating history…

Don’t take this as “you’re all superstitious idiots” because that’s not what I mean. I’m just trying to understand this…

MarekMuraze answers:

What the Mayans mean is that a new era is about to begin as another one fades away. The Mayans believe something similar before Christopher Columbus discovered the New World. It was a time of new discovery where another era faded out

Sharon asks…

Is it true the world is gunna end on the 21st December 2012?

I know, i am a bit late on the gossip.
BUT… I found out about it today, and i am really panicking. 😐

Something about this calender thing and some planets or something being aligned perfectly. I dunoo exactly, but along those lines.

Anyway, do you believe it? Or is it just a hoax?

Thanks a bunch. (:

MarekMuraze answers:

Everyone knows its a hoax. Ask a teacher. Ask your mom. Ask a freaking HOUSE PLANT.

(just don’t ask the guy with the tin-foil hat and the sandwich board sign reading “The Ende is Nigh!”)

William asks…

Do you believe that 2012 will happen?

Do you believe that 2012 will happen?
What are they saying is going to happen?
What is gonna cause this? —> i know that it has to do with all the planets being aligned but what does that have to do with the earth being destroyed or whatever?

I don’t believe in 2012 or at least I don’t want to but I’m still wondering about these questions..

MarekMuraze answers:

2012 WILL happen.

But the world won’t end then. Plan on living into 2013…that’s when everything hits the fan!!

Your Questions About Planets Align 2012

Lisa asks…

Should we all jump off a cliff since the world will end in 2012?

Reasons the world will end in 2012:
1) The Mayan calender predicted it.
2) The Bible predicts the Rapture will happen around this time.
The final battle between good and evil is about to begin.
3) Nostradamus predicted that the world would end in 2012. Nostradamus predicted the world would end by a fire; just like the Bible predicts.
4) The planets will align with the sun in 2012. And there will be a major sun storm. 99% of scientists agree on this fact.
5) The Yellowstone volcano is due to erupt some time soon now. 99.9% of the scientists at Harvard agree on this.
6) We are experimenting with atom smashers.
7) God is p*ssed because 78% of the world is starving and we are experimenting with stem cell research and encouraging abortions.
8) Obama is president.
This is indisputable proof that the world will end in 2012. If your interested in being saved give me all your money via PayPal in order to join my cult. Oh, and you jump first.

MarekMuraze answers:

1.Not true, the Mayan calendar symply ends on that date, it says nothing about the world coming with it.

2.Do you have a source for thsi information? Teh Bible says teh rapture (the coming of Jesus) will come completely unexpectedly, that makes this possibility much less likely.

3.Nostradamus’ predictions are very loose, and can be interpreted many different ways.

4.100% of scientists are idiots. Fact.

6.And have been for some time now.

7.Now you’re just being stupid.

8.Okay, the world isn’t going to end when he’s gone…if it ends soon, it’ll be his fault.

So, there, basically, 2012 is a second Y2K, a lot of hype and nothing is going to happen.

Mandy asks…

end of the world…..2012?

ok so i was talking to my husbands friend(hes into all that astro/future/planets stuff)anyways he said that in 2012 the planets are suppose to align and its suppose to do major damage weather wise and anyways the world is coming to an end.Now i know that 2000 we are suppose to go kapput and here we are but seriously its scary to think like that.Whats your opinion. Is there anyone who thinks this is true. Are there any facts.
so we are just going to go through a change not die.Why so dramatic. Why not just say the weather will change dramitically like its going to snow in southern cali.Whats with all the we are going die.

MarekMuraze answers:

1. There is no major planetary alignment in 2012. And even if there was one, the distances are so great (and gravity is a function of MASS and DISTANCE) that a butterfly 10 feet away from you has a greater influence on you than any planetary alignment.

2. 2012ers claim an alignment with the sun. WRONG. The sun crosses the galactic equator (as viewed from earth) 2 times per year…. Every year. The closest “alignment” to the galactic center was on the winter solstice of 1998. And that was 5 degrees off. I don’t remember the world ending then.

Your Additional Details:
A “change” is worded so vaguely, that we could say for any given year, a major change will occur, and not be right or wrong. If you spend time listening to talk radio, quite often in America you will hear the term “post 9/11″ as if we live in a different world since then. If you go into a baseball forum, you will hear the phrase “post anabolic steroids era” if you go into the comics and animation category, you might hear about the “golden age” or “silver age” of comic books.

All of these were either immediate changes or gradual ones, and could be appointe dto any year.

“Gradual” has even more influence if you were to go into an economy forum. Times are “tougher” now than they were several years ago for many people. But the shift was initially pretty slow. But I still have both of my jobs. It’s harder to pay for things with the same moeny I earn, but economies fluctuate anyway. It’s natural.

MORE ON 2012
The 2012 hoax-off has many claims, even quite a few that are self contradicting, and many others that contradict other parts of it.

It is difficult to calculate where it began. It seems several different armageddon’s sort of (slowly at first, then faster and faster as of recent months) “merged” into one.

First off, you have the Mayan Calender, (a cyclical calender) that turns over to a new Baktun on Dec. 21 (or 23 to some people’s interpretations) 2012. It’s the equivalent of a new year’s day for them. The calender rolls over, like your car odometer would… And you car doesn’t end when it ticks over to a new front digit, does it? The guy to blame for this nonsense is Jose Arguelles. Do a wiki search on him to determine if he has any understanding of archeaology or interpretation of Mayan artifacts, (credentials are lacking, imagination is not). Then decide if you wish to believe him or not.

The Planet X nonsense is the concoction of Nancy Lieder. She tried to sell books to “survive the end of the world” when this planet was suppossed to crashinto earth, or cause a pole shift, or whatever… Back in 2003.

Since she didn’t sell enough books, she republished it, changed the date to match with Jose Arguelles’ end of the world, and, VOILA! A new money making machine with zero scientific evidence whatsoever!!! Hooray! A sucker is born every minute… And Ms. Leider wants that suckers wallet. Throw her lil sidekick Mark Hazelton into the mix, and you have a recipe to confuse people into scaring them into emptying their wallets.

It’s a shame if you ask me.

What else?

Zechariah Sitchin’s Niburu?

Ooooh, don;t get me started. First of all, he misinterpreted an ancient Sumerian artifact. Fudged some dates on some mass extinction periods on earth, and came up with some 2085 date for the Annunaki to come back and get the gold from earthlings that we’ve alledgedly suppossed to have been mining for them for a few millenia.

Problem is, Sitchin’s fake planet was not intended to come in 2012, he originally claimed 2085, but wikipedia says he claims it will return in 2024, either way he is upset the 2012ers had no problem hijacking his planet and throwing it into the mix, not that a fake planet will come by no matter what hypothetical year you attribute to it.

Do you want me to continue?

I feel I have rambled on far too long in my answer…

Richard asks…

The truth of 2012?

I’ve noticed on here many people have been asking about the Mayan Calender ending December 21, 2012. 2012 is NOT the end of the world and I would suggest you stay away from any books telling you how you could survive. Huge Scam. 2012 in Mayan calender is when Quetzalcoatl, the mayan feathered serpent their god is to return to earth and unite all of mine kind into a universal belief. It’s also the darkest day of the year and its the end of a 5000 year cycle when all of the planets align on the milky way.

Anyways, I thought I’d clear this up. IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

MarekMuraze answers:

THANK GOD! I don’t worry about those things….I could get killed in a car wreck on my way to work tomorrow…but I still have to go, so I can’t worry about what if…I just live…and have faith that tomorrow will come!

William asks…

You know that thing thats supposed to happen in 2012?

well.. I have a theroy that its happened before… though people think it was from some giant meteor… or food shortage I have a reason to belive the planets aligned over a million years ago… making all animals extinct… is this probable? or just screwed up?

MarekMuraze answers:

Nothing is going to happen in 2012 other than some alignments in space.

2012 is not the end of the mayan calander, nor does the calander predict something bad to happen on that date.

Charles asks…

End of the world on December, 2012?

I’ve been reading about the Mayan calendar and how they said the world will end on December, 2012, and that the planets will all align at that date?
What is really going to happen? I’m getting worried over nothing, I’m thinking, but I just want to know the details and stuff.

Thank you!
If its not the end of the world, its the beginning of a new one, does that mean that we will all still die?

MarekMuraze answers:

It is the Galactic Alignment which happens every 26,000 years, and the last time this happened Cro-Magnon man started producing beautiful cave paintings, jewelery, and his weapons became more sophisticated and the art of making stone tools also became a thing of beauty… I don’t know why people continue to refer to Dec 21st 2012 as Doomsday.. It is the end of the Mayan Long Count Calender, the beginning of a new era, not the end of the world..It has been called “The Shift” or “The Great Change” we will evolve spiritually…
All the disasters which are happening throughout the world right now have been foretold, even in the Bible..
Crop-circles are a direct communication from the Light Beings, Interdimensional travellers who are here to help with our Ascension into the 5th dimension..They are not man-made as the government and the government run puppet media would have you believe..They are also mentioned in the Bible, Acts 2:19..
There is a new frequency being received right now by the earth and we are all being affected by it, many of us have a job to do and we are becoming aware of just who we really are..Many of us are Light Workers and we will have task of helping others understand what is happening…
The Church knows this is happening and they are calling it the 2nd coming among other things, just another con really, they know their time is up…
I will post a couple of sites for you, but I am more of a book man personally, and if you go to and punch in 2012 there are plenty of books there…Also punch in Mayan prophesies, and you will be amazed as to how many people have written books on the subject…
There should be enough diverse information in just these two web-sites to get your mind thinking in overdrive… If you want to know about some book titles, feel free to e-mail me..

Your Questions About 2012 Planetary Alignment Date

John asks…

2012, aliens evolved humans, end of days?

Okay so I just got done watching 2012 which by the way was amazing. It got me to start thinking of possibilities. It states in that movie that every 325,000 years or so planetary alignment happens and then it has big problems for earth. Polar shifts, earth crust shifting things like that. So here’s my thought. Something like that movie happened a long time ago, a number of scientists and such survived the catastrophe. Then they rebuilt civilization and worked on getting out of here so they wouldn’t be so affected by the alignment. So if the earth is 4.1 billion years old couldn’t this have happened several times. Some civilizations make the cut others don’t? UFO’s being the first set of humans predecessors to come back to earth seeing that we are “worthy” of being saved and how we’ve achieved so much. Adam and Eve story aspect by stating that the people that survived eventually had to breed inter familied. Couldn’t this all be connected? So Aliens are evolved humans possibly? Alien sightings are getting more and more common simply because we are closing in on the date of the end? Eventually make us trust them and take us to somewhere safe? Have they done this before? Could this be jesus the savior? I’m a christian but i’m just being open minded. I want a scientific thought about this please no religious fanatics i mean absolutely no offense to any religon. However it does seem that all religons specify on one god. Not multiple so could this too be related? I’m simply thinking here, nothing too serious.
okay to the haters out there, i’ve done some looking on youtube prior to this movie. I never said any information was factual. what’s your explanation for the mayan calender? What do you think about UFO’s? Nostradamus predicted 2012 and he predicted hitler by calling him histler off by one letter that’s pretty good. So you all need to hop off and just open your mind. No i’m not basing it off a movie that’s ignorant of you to think that i am. I simply am thinking due to the global warming ice caps melting wouldn’t that be polar shifting? You people who think that i’m just blowing smoke need to check out some stuff first. Sure they are theories but that’s what i’m suggesting a theory not facts. No one knows if god is real, i don’t i believe but i don’t know. Religon can’t be proven by scientific fact. Movies are based off theories for the most part and exaggerated to make them entertaining. So all in all stop hating i didn’t ask for dumb f u ckin responses.

MarekMuraze answers:

Sorry, but you’re the one that needs to check out some stuff first, not us. Someone in a fictional movie says that planetary alignment happens every 325,000 years and you believe it? Some bozo on YouTube puts together a video saying the world will end and you believe that? People claim all sorts of correct predictions by Nostradamus and you don’t question why you never hear about them until after the event? You need to stick to hard facts and do your research on reputable websites, where you will find those facts. To start with, a geology website would tell you than ice caps melting is nothing to do with polar shifting.

James asks…

How did the Mayans predict that a pole shift will happen in 2012?

There is a significant chance that we may experience a pole shift in 2012. Our sun is due for its 11 year cyclical pole shift, at that time. Due to the influence of a planetary alignment, also scheduled, at that time, our Earth may shift its poles too. NASA has already confirmed that the Earth’s north magnetic pole has started to migrate to the South Atlantic. It has also detected a diminishing magnetic field that accompany pole shifts.

According to some Mayans, this date marks the end of the long count of their calendar; Set to end on a winter solstice (12-21-12). On this date, our Solar system will be center aligned , in the Milky Way’s equator. Our sun will be centered in a position called “The Tree of Life”, as it does every 25,800 years. In this position, unusually violent sun spot activity may cause a pole shift. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods will run ramped. Significant loss of life will occur. Earths magnetic field will temporarily collapse. Humans will be exposed to a cosmic energy that will facilitate enlightenment. If you would like to read about the Mayans and their predictions for the time, I have summarized them here:

Geologist Gregg Branden gave a lecture back in 1996. He spoke of how ancient traditions and beliefs, of the coming new age, can be explained in the language of modern science. He shows there may definitely be something to the Mayan predictions about a (pole shift) as well as life ending as we know it. In fact, he claims Earth’s rotation as well as its magnetic field are already in a gradual deceleration and decline. Further, at its current rate, both should approach “Zero” on 12/21/2012. His lecture is kind of long (4 hours), but I found it very interesting ( regarding 2012)

MarekMuraze answers:

They didn’t. The pole shift doesn’t happen all at once, genius. It happens over the course of a couple hundred years. Instead of reading a bunch of sensationalist propaganda, why don’t you read some geology papers on pole shifts so you can understand what they’re really like? The Earth has had many pole shifts in the past, and none of them appeared to disrupt life one bit. Nor were pole shifts ever associated with a change in the magnetic field or with the core’s rotation. Gregg Branden is widely regarded as a crazy-pants with crazy-pants ideas in geology. I wouldn’t take anything he says seriously.

The 2012 event is not a pole shift, but the Earth crossing the galactic center. It will make a pretty pattern in the night sky in areas where you can see the Milky Way. That’s about all that’ll happen. Sorry to bust your bubble.

Daniel asks…

Are there any astrological anomalies on 12.21.2012?

I am particularly interested in any planetary alignments that might happen and if there will be any excessive gravitational pull on that date.

MarekMuraze answers:

We’ve all been that route before and there has never been any reason to believe that any kind of alignment will ever affect us. Well, Saturn and Jupiter can combine to raise our tides by about .03 mm, if you consider that significant.

There are no alignments on that date, or near it. The highly advertised alignment of the sun with the galactic center will not happen. It will cross the galactic equator on that date, as it does every year, missing the galactic center by a good 5 or 6 degrees.

It’s all nonsense. A cheap way for a few people to make some money. Astrology is also bunk. Always was. Always will be.

Maria asks…

Very interesting thought. Long. However interesting!?

Most have heard of the Mayan calender end date 12/21/2012. Most do not believe this is the END of time, but rather a time of ascension or peeking of knowledge (consciousness). The time of ascending could begin +/- 30yrs of the planetary alignment.

The internet is the final home of knowledge. This means it is the portal through which we have unlimited access to endless knowledge. The internet has everything everybody in the world knows in it. You look up anything you know and someone already knew it.

Could it be that the internet is the platform for our ascension. 12/21/2012 or around could be the high or peek in abundant knowledge. Thus leading into a NEW era in human consciousness.

Throughout time men have made it their quest to further their knowledge of being. Could it be that the information highway and planetary alignment have something in common.
Stephen L : While I agree a lot is garbage all other information is there for those that seek.

MarekMuraze answers:

The knowledge has always been with us, and you are correct, the internet now allows us to understand this knowledge, if you can avoid its many pitfalls.

Susan asks…

What do you think is going to happen within the mantle shift of the north & south pole on December 21, 2012?

Another History Channel program titled “Decoding the Past: Doomsday 2012: End of Days” says a galactic alignment or magnetic disturbances could somehow trigger a “pole shift.”

“The entire mantle of the earth would shift in a matter of days, perhaps hours, changing the position of the north and south poles, causing worldwide disaster,” a narrator proclaims. “Earthquakes would rock every continent, massive tsunamis would inundate coastal cities. It would be the planetary catastrophe.

Apolinario Chile Pixtun, who is apart of a Mayan tribe located near Mexico City, is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly “running out” on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, he says it is NOT going to be the end of the world.

He states that there will be either a lunar or a solar eclipse and that there will be astrological changes, but NOT the end of the world. Mayan elders even say they are tired of the Western hype, and are tired of their lies.

What do you think is going to happen in result of the eclipse on or around December of 21st of 2012? I mean the Mayan elders have stated that it is FACT that this date is a significant time period for the Maya tribes that does end on the date, and that the Mayan tribes have found a series of astronomical alignments they say coincide in 2012, including one that happens roughly only once every 25,800 years. But they did NOT say the end of the world is going to happen.

What do experts and everyone else on Yahoo Answers believe is going to happen on this date? Thanks for your answers. I have done research on this topic for several years.

MarekMuraze answers:

I don’t beleieve the World is Ending either. However, I think its quite possible that we’re in for one hellofa ride. I would like to here if any studies and statistics have come about from the last 25,800 year astro event. Be prepared, other than that and pray.

Sandy asks…

2012 ?

2012 is quickly approaching. December 21, 2012 to be exact, is the date when the sun and planets in our solar system will align. As we speak they are getting closer to this alignment, and therefore an increase in earthquakes. Why is this alignment causing earthquakes? Because solar flares from the sun are increasing due to gravity and the impending closeness of this alignment of our planets. Solar flares heat the core of the earth, and thus cause the techtonic plates to move and shift which is what an earthquake is. As the date gets closer, expect the frequency and intensity of these earthquakes to increase. It is likely that catastrophe will happen before December 21, 2012, as the alignment gets closer. Don’t believe these people who say it is nothing. Did you not notice that the earth is changing? For what reason did you ask the question? You know in your heart that devastation is coming and you want to know more.

MarekMuraze answers:

The only true statement in the entire passage.

No they won’t:

There’s no increase in earthquakes. Alignments don’t have the slightest effect on us.

Solar flares are not triggered by gravity.

No they don’t

No they won’t

There won’t be any catastrophe.

I know when I come across a copy and paste from a crackpot website.
The people who churn out this drivel haven’t a clue. Read below for a demolition of all the nonsense.

Sharon asks…

What are the purely scientific astronomical alignments which the Mayas saw would occur on that certain?

date in 2012? I understand that modern astronomy agrees with their basic findings. I’ve heard something like a very rare alignment of our planets. I’ve also heard something to do with the black hole at the center of the Milky Way… we’re lined up with it or something. Thanks.

MarekMuraze answers:

Astronomers are predicting NO alignments for 2012. The Mayans did not predict anything either. All of this 2012 nonsense is made up by people who are neither Mayan scholars nor astronomers, but are con men out to make a buck of dumb suckers who don’t know anything about science or history.

Robert asks…

Do you think the world will change by 2012?

If you look into the year 2012, you will notice a couple of things, First of all i begin with the illuminatis, they are a secret group that works from the shadows controlling most of the world and turning and twisting it slowly to create a new world order so they can worship Lucifier their God openly. and they are doing it this very moment.
Second of All, you will see the Mayan calendar ends on that date, which means the fifth cycle will begin, a new era so to speak of humankind of all that is good.
Third you can see that the poles of the earth are shifting once again in our very own period, I read that for them to really shift they need alot of magnetic force outside from earth itself to make the shift really occur, and according to they mayan calendar , an alignment of planet or sun or stars will take place and it will be very close to earth which can very well give out the magnetic force needed for the polar shifts.
What do you think of all of this?

MarekMuraze answers:

God nows wats gonna happen…i just hope its gonna be gud!

George asks…

What’s your opinion on the idea that 12/21/2012 will be the end of the world, as we know it?

Darn History Channel documentaries making me think about it….. it is the Mayan calendar date of choice, and an important day in the galactic planet/sun alignment.

Thank you for your answers! :)

MarekMuraze answers:

2012 was the end of the Mayan calendar and 2012 is mentioned in several other cultures. A man named Terrance McKenna did a lot of research on this. Do a search for Time Wave Zero and Novelty theory.
Personally I’m not sure if this is the end, or the beginning of something. I have done a lot of reading on 2012 and guess I will just have to wait and see. If nothing happens I will be very surprised though!

Your Questions About 2012 Planet Alignment Facts

Lisa asks…

solar maximum? 2012? Facts behind it?

I’ve obviously heard about 2012 and the Mayan New Year and all that. From what I can tell…it’s mainly crap…but the solar maximum/solar storms seems to stand out at me…anyone know if this is also crap along with planet x/galactic alignment/nostradumbass/any of that or is the upcoming solar maximum something to actually plan for?

MarekMuraze answers:

Here’s a link with the best available predictions about the next solar maximum, an event which occurs roughly every 11 years.

“The panel has decided that the next solar cycle will be below average in intensity, with a maximum sunspot number of 90. Given the predicted date of solar minimum and the predicted maximum intensity, solar maximum is now expected to occur in May, 2013.”

Key words: 2013, not 2012, and “below average in intensity”.

We are right now in a period of unusually low activity, the “deepest solar minimum in a century”. (“SOLAR SURPRISE” Note: This article is on the front page today, Aug 31, 2009 but I don’t know what the permanent link for it would be.) That is part of what made it hard for scientists to decide where we were in the cycle. Once they finally agreed that we had reached minimum, they could project the next maximum.

“Maximum” means a maximum in the expected number of sunspots per month. Sunspots are associated with streams of ejected charged particles which cause increased radio noise, auroras at the poles, some observable ionosphere effects and in rare cases have been known to impact electrical power lines. But nothing like the “killer flares” the scaremongers like to pretend are coming.

We are only barely able to predict when the maximum number of sunspots will occur. We have no capability whatsoever to project individual solar storms. Keep in mind that these “storms” have almost no effect on day to day life here on Earth.

Edited: Another answer says “Right now, we’re going through a warm period, which is where the solar flares start acting up at increased levels.” I don’t know where this person got that statement. As the link I provided notes, we are at solar minimum right now and this is the lowest amount of solar activity we’ve seen in a century.

Mandy asks…

2012 Ceremony of the New ERA?

2012 is a fact that all the planets in our solar system as well as the solar points of our milkyway galaxy will align.. now should humans celebrate and mark this occasion?

The planet‘s Alignment is the only time where space travelling as well as intergalactic travelling is most possible… if aliens are to come.. how should we welcome them?

2 questions:

1- Should Humans celebrate the occastion and beginning of a new ERA? (Mayan calendar should reset to 0 again.

2- How should Humans Welcome Aliens if they come in 2012??
>.> So the myths are incorrect.. that would drive 2 conclusion.. either the Mayan Calendar wasen’t designed to calculate earth time.

other is.. the mayan calendar calculates an event in a parallel world?

2012 is NOT a fact planets will align. Actually, there are sites that will show you where the planets are and will be for any date of your choice, and nowhere in 2012 will planets ever come *close* to align (in 2012, Saturn and Jupiter, the 2 most massive planets in our solar system, will be nearly at 150 degree angle, and only one planet would be even remotely close to be aligned with Earth and the Sun).

Given that your premise is totally unfounded, then your 2 questions are irrelevant,

Jenny asks…

Why do people still believe 2012 will be the end?

I really am confuse by people that really believe 2012 is the end. The first time I heard f 2012 was on a documentery about how these crystal skulls were the key to save the world in 2012. Sounds ridiculous. I thought it was just something they added to make a good creepy documentery then discovered that people believe this was the end? I’m in fear of 2012 just for the fact thy everyone acts like thy know something I don’t lol. fOr something theybelieve is going to happen. They really don’t know what’s gonna end it other than that’s when the mayan calendar ends which has ended before. So who came up with this? Does someone look for things that match up with something but has no significant proof to scare people? It would make a good movie I guess. Oh wait!!! There is one!!! Lol anyways let’s see… Planet x.. With all the fake pics being made and no evidence other than some crazy guy photoshopping some pics I’m pretty sure we can rule that out. Pole reverse? Happens I believe every 11 years if I’m correct and the world doesn’t restate every 11 years. Planet alignment? I think the chances of perfect alignment would be impossible (just Look that up) let’s see I’m sure there are more that have nothing significant to add to 2012. My dad says eery 10-15 years someone said the earth was ending. Helll hen I was a kid back in 99 everyone convince me the world was gonna end. I was terrified. Them when my father was younger they said the worl was getting to cold. Now it’s to hot. I’m not saying the world won’t end in 2012 I’m no saying I won’t end tomorrow. Maybe aliens blow it up with some kinda laser or the sun decides ofo out because it is to hot and wants to cool down. These two events are more likely to happen than 2012 theorys. And if you believe this is the end and answer give me some proof. Why you know it’s true. Prophets an a feeling aren’t logical answers and mean nothing. The Mayan calendar is crap so don’t say that’s the reason. I don’t wanna hear about some prophet saying the end of the world is coming and the go to tell me that there other predictions came true. Predictions are not the hardest thing to make. I can make predictions to. The world will end whm there is a huge advance in technology. Hurricanes will happen. And tornadoes and government officials will be corrupt. See…I know those things are happning and will happen. But people 200 years from now will think we are ignorant and will be like “oh my god he’s right, government is corrupt and we take taxis to the moon” good luck explain why people believe this and if you believe explain why it’s true. Sorry for the typos I’m using my phone

The formula of the end of the world doomsday prophecy is always the same. It originates from ancient times. Its basis surrounds a certain date or time period in the future. There is always some special insight beyond advanced modern science about how things really work. There are historically vague embellished coincidences that lead people to believe there is a solid basis for these future doomsday prognostications. It is all designed to play on our fear. The facts are created using smoke and mirrors. Like any scam, the real intention is to separate us from the dollars in our wallets.

Chris asks…

2012 What will happen?

I need some intelligent minds to help me figure this out.
I seriously, dont know what will happen.
The facts – Mayan’s Calendar ends in December 21st, 2012.
It has to end once. They are an extinct civilization. It wont last till 1050205 year.
Nostradamus, he was a fake. He took quotes, from dozens of other cultist books, and copied them into his, making a “Prophecies” book. Mostly, there are 2 ways you can look at this.
Scientific look: Pole Shifting, Supernovas, “The Planet Alignment“,etc.
Religious look: God created us all,and only he knows the end of the world.
This is a quote from the bible, which i believe we should all know,by observing the 2012.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid…for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” And , “Yea though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.”

MarekMuraze answers:

You misinterpreted the “scientific look.” Pole shifting, supernovae, and planet alignments are not the scientific look. I would call those the the “internet desperate for attention / entertainment look.” The scientific look consists of the following:

1. The Mayans were a late Stone Age culture who never invented the wheel. They did not predict the end of the world, but even if they did, there is no technical reason to believe what they said.
2. Magnetic poles shift every few million years, and they take hundreds of years to do so. This cannot occur between now and any date in 2012.
3. Geologic pole shifting violates all the laws of physics developed since the 17th century. It is not possible.
4. There will be no planetary alignments in 2012. Perceived alignments with the center of the galaxy are not even close to actually being aligned, have happened every year the same way for centuries, and would have absolutely no effect even if they were precisely aligned – which they are not.
5. Trying to interpret what God will or will not do is beyond the capabilities of any technical effort and is probably overstated by anyone who claims such knowledge.

So in summary, I think you have little to worry about, unless you really enjoy being worried for no reason.

Betty asks…

Doomsday, December 21, 2012?

We can only guess, but is this quote reliable?
“…when a calendar comes to the end of a cycle, it just rolls over into the next cycle. In our Western society, every year 31 December is followed, not by the End of the World, but by 1 January. So in the Mayan calendar will be followed by – or good-ol’ 22 December 2012, with only a few shopping days left to Christmas.” – Excerpt from Dr Karl’s “Great Moments in Science”.

Why is planet alignment brought into this? Haven’t planets lined up before?

There have been LOADS of ‘doomsday’ predictions…
Why is this one so special?

What does planet x have to do with this?

What will the sunspots do to us on December 21 (or 23)?

What if I just don’t go out of my house for 2 months… maybe I won’t catch a predicted sickness?

I Really want reliable facts… I believe I’m scared.

MarekMuraze answers:

Nothing is gonna happen in December 2012.
Some1 just made up that something cool or bad is going to happen on a cool date.
Y2K – supposed to happen in year 2000.(the year number looks cool enough)

December 21,2012 – 12.21.2012 (seems cool enough to make up a “prediction”, even tho there is no scientific proof).
I haven’t researched predictions to name more cool dates but i bet there are many more.

I also have read about the “doomsday” a little, and i have found NO scientific proof.
