2012 is not our doomsday?
Ok, for awhile now this has been bothering me. I know, it’s stupid, yes, but fear can really do a lot to people. I’ve been having this 2012 doomsday stuff on my mind for awhile now. My view point on it is that it’s just another cash cow, hence all the movies and books about it. What I think is that it’s just stupid. Nostradamus’, as far as I know, doesn’t say anything about a 2012 doomsday. His predictions go all the way up to the year 3749 or something around that time period, I don’t remember the exact year. And then theirs also the Mayan calender, which everyone says that it marks the end of the world. As far as I know about that, It’s a celebration rather then a doomsday. A celebration that we made it trough another major cycle. Also I know that all the planets align on said dooms day. But what actually says that their will be a doomsday in 2012?
My question is what do you guys think about it? I’m like freaking out about it, even know I think it’s all nothing. What do you people think about it? Do you think their will be a doomsday? Why or why not?
P.S. Sorry for my bad spelling and grammar, I tried.
Ty guys for the answers! I aprechiate them
You are very correct in what you state. It is a scam to make money off the fears of the public.
Don’t be Scammed!
There are some things you need to know about the rumors of the “end of the world” or “Planet X” or “Nibiru” in 2012.
The “2012 doomsday” is a hoax, a fraud, and a con job. It is a cruel and disgusting lie being promoted by scam artists after money; First they scare people to death that something terrible is going to happen, then publish books and videos on “how to survive the apocalypse”. Get the scam?! You’re not going to fall for something like that… right?
The problem is that some people will fall for the scam. Some people will believe it. Some people will waste their money buying fake information on “how to survive”. They will buy worthless survival kits or spaces in shelters that are not going to be built – ever!.
Some people will die because of these rumours, and we are trying our best to stop them.
If you think we are being overly dramatic, then think about this. In September, 2008, Chayya, a young woman in India became distraught and depressed after watching poorly made and over-hyped reports about the Large Hadron Collider. She believed these shows when they said that the LHC would cause a ‘miniature big bang’ or a create a black hole, and destroy the world. She drank insecticide. She was 16.
Why would December 21, 2012 bring “The End”?
They say on 12-21-12 the planets will align. That would be an awesome event! But why would people think that the world will end because of it?
Of course its a doomsday theory, but why would planet aligning bring “The End”?
1) The planets will not align. Check out this diagram: http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/Solar?date=1&utc=2012%2F12%2F21+11%3A12%3A00&jd=2476948.34564&img=-k0&sys=-Sf&eyes=0&imgsize=320&orb=-b0&lat=47%B0&ns=North&lon=7%B0&ew=East&hlat=90%B0&hns=North&hlon=0%B0&elements=
2) If all the planets were to align perfectly with each one as close as possible to the Earth, their gravity would raise the ocean tides by just one twenty-fifth of one millimeter. Http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2000/ast30mar_1m.htm
Does that cover it? Nothing will happen, and that includes all the other crackpot ideas such as galactic alignment, pole shift, solar storm, Planet X, photon belt and the world being attacked by a giant poisonous jellyfish.
Doomsday year 2012 , Scientific facts or religious Beliefs?
Is the whole thought on the Earths Expiry date real or just some scriptures that claim it to be? is there scientific evidence that the planets will align in such a way in 2012 that will cause such a thing? or is it just read off some old scripts that have no research proof behind it?
is the Mayan calander real? and how could people soo long ago even have the brains or technology to prove and predict such a thing?
Basically all i want to know is
a> IS it a fact the planets will line up in such a way only every so some years that causes the earth to be unstable?
b> is there ANY evidence or research that went into this that could back up some of the story behind our so called “doomsday” ?
c> if yes then has the govenment even considered some sort of plan of survival? or is that just too obscene and out of context for them to think of such a thing. as its more of a “religeous” belief then a Fact
A> IS it a fact the planets will line up in such a way only every so some years that causes the earth to be unstable?
No. There will be no particular planetary alignment in 2012. The Earth has never been made unstable by an alignment of planets and never will be. This is the province of the astrologers and woo-woos.
B> is there ANY evidence or research that went into this that could back up some of the story behind our so called “doomsday” ?
No. Every single prediction is either an impossible exaggeration (solar flares) or just a plain lie (pole shift, galactic alignment, Planet X, etc.) None of it has any scientific validity and none of it will take place.
C> if yes then has the government even considered some sort of plan of survival? Or is that just too obscene and out of context for them to think of such a thing. As its more of a “religeous” belief then a Fact
The Government has more important things to do than take notice of a bunch of attention-seeking crackpots.
Is there any reason to believe in this whole 2012 thing?
I see the theory’s every where, But People were just as sure the world was ending in the year 2000 weren’t they? and that did not happen. What do you think and why? I herd it was supposedly going to happen because of the planets and sun aligning or something like that.
It isn’t a theory.
A theory is a scientific attempt to logically explain some observed phenomenon.
The world ending in 2012 is not an observed phenomenon, and the hoax is completely devoid of any scientific logic.
Y2K was a legitimate concern, not about the world ending but about computer programming errors that would cause widespread damage to finances, personal information, government data, etc. There was never any suggestion that the world would end in 2000.
The hoax about the world ending in 2012 is just that – a hoax. It was started by some nutjobs in 2003. Their prediction that the world would end in 2003 obviously failed (they got the prediction from some aliens communicated from 39 light years away through “brain implants” – riiiight).
And a tiny bit of research would show that the planets and sun cannot possibly align. And even if they did, the only people that consider an “alignment” important are astrologers. Scientists know that “alignments” mean absolutely nothing and have no effect on the Earth.
My 2012 theory please read this.?
Ok I have seen the apocalyptic predictions for the year 2012, most of which seem a bit fictitious, but one has seemed to stick out with me. In it scientists say that as the planets align a wave of solar radiation that has been traveling since the creation of our universe will pass trough earth as it has done every approximately 13,000 years. They theorize that this way will work like an EMP bomb and knock out power and vital electronics to en extent that is unknown. This made me think (it actually kept me awake a few nights). What if this wave was powerful enough to effect any equipment that works through nuclear fission?
(This is the scary part of my theory ). The US alone has 107 nuclear power plants that store mass amounts of unstable materials which could lead to 107 repeats of the Chernobyl incodent. If this wave were to effect these plants we wouldn’t just have to deal with the damage from the explosion, extreme radiation in our main water supplies would also plague us and kill thousands more.
Now to add onto this threat there is the infamous “nukes”. In 1945 the Us admited to having created 5,000+. Now 64 years later who knows were that number is. And of course, as if the sheer number was not enough, they are scattered all over the US in order to “protect the nation from a nuclear incodent”. That means there could be nukes in every military base, and ship in the US, and there is no telling if our government has decided to hid the nuclear divices near major cities.
And of course this is true for all other countries that use nuclear technology. Meaning that underdeveloped countries would be left unscathed while everyone else is left picking up the peices (hello WWIII).
Now this is just my theory but I seriously hope all governments take possibilities like this into consideration in the near future.
Your theory scares me out. It would be better if it is end of the world. Where every soul are sent back to heaven.
